We have been involved with brick mortar and brickwork quality for over 40 years and as private analysts and specialist consultants we have been advising the construction industry for the past 21 years.

In about 1997 we were introduced to Mortar & Surface Restorations and subsequently conducted our own internal analysis of the materials used in the re-pointing process and attended on site to observe the processes used for raking the existing sub-standard mortar from bed courses and perpends.

We were impressed by the neatness and cleanliness of the raking processes and the use of vacuum collection of the dust created when removing the old mortar was an innovation we had not previously witnessed. The procedures were most effective, clean and efficient.

The replacement mortar used for re-pointing was sampled and tested and found to far exceed the properties normally present in traditional mortars and the inclusion of emulsifiers in the new mortar resulted in greater impermeability and bonding properties.

The Mortar & Surface Restoration organization is recommended by our consultancy on the basis of our investigation and assessment and we inform our clients that whilst other organizations may claim to perform the same work we make our recommendation on the basis of our knowledge of the care and expertise demonstrated by the Mortar & Surface Restoration team.
